HR Transformation
Turning strategic ambition into a practical programme of change — from initial discovery through design and implementation.
I help organisations turn complex HR transformation into change that actually works.
My focus is on the things that make the biggest difference: how work flows, how services are designed, how technology supports them, and how people experience HR.

Too often it means a new structure, a new system or a programme of activity — without enough attention to whether HR actually works better afterwards.
I take a more practical approach.
I work with organisations to understand how HR operates today, identify where complexity and friction really sit, and turn that understanding into deliverable change.
That can mean redesigning services and processes, implementing technology, reshaping operating models, improving data or simply removing work that shouldn’t be there in the first place.
Turning strategic ambition into a practical programme of change — from initial discovery through design and implementation.
Understanding how work actually happens, simplifying it and designing HR services around outcomes rather than organisational boundaries.
Making technology, automation and data work in support of better HR — rather than allowing the system to define the service.
Bridging the gap between design and reality. Translating decisions into workable processes, systems, responsibilities and plans.
I don’t arrive with a pre-packaged transformation methodology.
I start by understanding the organisation: the work, the people doing it, the technology supporting it and the problems people are actually trying to solve.
Understand what really happens — not simply what the process documentation says should happen.
Step back from the immediate problem and look for patterns, dependencies and root causes.
Challenge assumptions, test ideas and involve the people who understand the work.
Turn the thinking into practical change that can actually be implemented.
I’ve spent my career working at the intersection of people, process, technology and organisational change.
My experience spans complex HR transformation, shared services, operating-model design, HR technology, process improvement and implementation across large organisations.
More recently, my work has focused particularly on transformation in complex public-sector environments, where successful change has to balance ambition with operational reality.

The best transformation doesn’t necessarily create more.
Often, it removes things.
Unnecessary hand-offs. Duplicate activity. Workarounds. Poorly designed processes. Avoidable employee enquiries. Technology doing things simply because it can.
Start with the work itself. Find the friction, simplify what gets in the way, and focus on changes that make a practical difference.
Whether you’re wrestling with a problem, want to exchange ideas, or think there might be something interesting to talk about, I’m happy to have a conversation.
